Warmtrace Privacy Policy

Overview

Warmtrace is an iPhone app from Ashraya Studio for preserving the story behind selected photos and videos. This policy explains what information Warmtrace uses, where it is processed, and the choices available to you.

The short version: Your memory content is processed on your devices and, when available, synced through Apple’s private CloudKit database. Warmtrace does not copy your archive to an Ashraya-operated backend.

Information you add

Warmtrace stores the information you choose to add, including memory notes and titles, dates, tags, favorite state, deletion state, cover choice, and the identifiers needed to reconnect a memory with selected Apple Photos items.

These records are stored on your device using Apple system frameworks. When iCloud is available, Apple’s private CloudKit database may sync them among devices signed into your Apple Account. Apple processes iCloud data under Apple’s terms and privacy practices.

Photos, videos, and camera captures

Your full-resolution originals remain managed by Apple Photos and iCloud Photos. Warmtrace stores links to items you select rather than copying full-resolution originals into its memory database. Selected image or video-frame bytes are processed on your device for display, thumbnails, Keepsakes, and exports.

When you capture a new photo or video inside Warmtrace, it is saved to Apple Photos. Deleting a Warmtrace memory does not delete its original from Photos.

Permissions

Warmtrace requests Photos access only when a feature needs a durable link to selected media, camera and microphone access only when you choose to capture media, notifications only after a contextual request, and Face ID, Touch ID, or device-passcode authentication only when you enable App Lock. Permission choices can be reviewed in iOS Settings.

App Lock, widgets, and notifications

Optional App Lock uses Apple’s local authentication framework. Warmtrace does not receive your biometric data. App Lock also hides imagery from Warmtrace’s widget and protects the App Switcher snapshot while locked.

Widget thumbnails and privacy-minimized selection metadata are stored in the app’s local shared container. Anniversary notifications are scheduled locally with generic copy and do not include your memory title, note, tags, or photo.

Purchases

Optional Warmtrace purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit. Ashraya Studio does not receive your payment-card details. The app receives product and entitlement information needed to display offers, unlock unlimited memory creation, restore access, and respond to expiration or revocation. Apple may provide Ashraya Studio with aggregate App Store commerce reporting.

Keepsakes, exports, and sharing

Warmtrace creates Keepsakes and exports only when you request them. A Keepsake is a newly rendered composite rather than the original Photos file and is designed not to inherit the original file’s embedded metadata. Exported PDF, text, JSON, HTML, thumbnails, and shared files go only to destinations you choose through Apple’s system interfaces.

Exported or shared copies are controlled by you and are not automatically removed when a memory or the app is deleted. Warmtrace exports are not full-resolution Photos-library backup or restore packages.

What Warmtrace does not do

• No Warmtrace or Ashraya account.
• No Ashraya-operated memory-content backend.
• No advertising or third-party analytics SDK.
• No sale of memory content or personal information.
• No cross-app tracking or advertising identifier.
• No Contacts upload, face recognition, or cloud AI processing.

Diagnostics

Warmtrace does not include a third-party crash-reporting or analytics SDK. Limited Apple system logging may record operational categories needed to diagnose local errors; Warmtrace is designed to keep memory text, photo identifiers, export paths, and other private content out of those logs.

Deletion and retention

Move to Recently Deleted keeps a Warmtrace record recoverable for up to 30 days unless you permanently delete it sooner. Permanent deletion removes the record from the current app and allows normal private CloudKit deletion to propagate to other signed-in devices when sync is available.

The confirmed Delete All action removes active and Recently Deleted Warmtrace records, widget data, and scheduled memory notifications. It never deletes originals in Apple Photos, files you previously exported, or Apple purchase history. iCloud propagation is asynchronous and may complete when affected devices next connect and sync.

Support communications

If you email support, Ashraya Studio receives your email address and the information you choose to provide through your email service. Please do not send photos, videos, memory text, exports, or other sensitive content.

Support information is used only to respond, protect the service, and meet applicable obligations. Resolved conversations are removed from active support systems within 90 days unless longer retention is legally required. Service-provider backups may persist temporarily under the provider’s retention process.

Children

Warmtrace is not directed to children and does not knowingly operate a child account or collect a child’s information through an Ashraya backend. Adults remain responsible for the content they choose to record or share.

Policy changes

If this policy changes, the effective date above will be updated. Material changes will be reflected in the app or on this page as appropriate.
